A primeira tentativa in- vitro falha.

The Film

How to Be Single is a 2016 American romantic comedy film directed by Christian Ditter and written by Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, based on the novel of the same name by Liz Tuccillo. Starring Dakota Johnson, Rebel Wilson, Alison Brie, and Leslie Mann, the film was released on February 12, 2016, by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Plot

Alice (Dakota Johnson) temporarily dumps her college boyfriend Josh and moves to New York City to be a paralegal. She moves in with her sister, an OB/GYN considering having a child as a single mother via sperm donor. Alice befriends wild co-worker Robin (Rebel Wilson) who enjoys partying and one-night stands. Robin introduces her to Tom (Anders Holm), a bartender who has willfully embraced the bachelor lifestyle and enjoys numerous casual hookups. However, Tom has a crush on Lucy (Alison Brie), who lives close to his bar and is looking for the perfect guy on every dating site possible, even employing the use of algorithms to find one. Alice, taken to Tom's bar by Robin, sleeps with Tom, who explains to her his desire for strictly casual relations with women and shows her the measures he takes to avoid commitment. He fist-bumps her as she leaves. Alice meets with Josh at a pancake restaurant to tell him she is "done" with their break and is ready to get back together. Josh explains that they can't get back together because he is seeing someone else, which distresses and upsets Alice.
Meanwhile, Alice's older sister, Meg (Leslie Mann), who previously decided she did not want to pursue relationships or have children, has a change of heart and decides to have a child via sperm donor. The first in- vitro attempt fails. She starts dating Ken shortly after learning the second IVF attempt was successful, and she hides the pregnancy from him.
Back at Tom's bar, Lucy has a string of bad dates with men she met on dating websites. Tom witnesses all of them and begins to feel despondent and jealous, leading him to realize he has an emotional attraction to Lucy. As her sister kindles her own relationship and goes through her pregnancy, Alice continues to pine after Josh. In an attempt to "put herself out there" she attends a Wesleyan alumni networking event, where she briefly converses with a man named David. Later, Alice and Robin attend Josh's winter holiday party, and as Alice watches Josh dance with and kiss his new girlfriend, Michelle, she becomes melancholy and leaves the party to look at the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center. Walking down the street, she runs into David, the man she met from the networking event. She invites him to go look at the tree with her, but in reply David says he has to show her something. They go to an empty building under construction, which David reveals to have a striking window view of the Christmas tree. Dazzled, Alice thanks him and they begin a relationship. Three months later, as Alice is singing with David's daughter, Phoebe, David becomes upset and asks Alice what she's doing, reminding her sternly that she's "not Phoebe's mother". Confused, Alice says she didn't mean to upset David and asks him why he's so closed off, particularly about Phoebe's mother. The two break up.
Lucy, having been in a relationship for three weeks with a man named Paul, goes to Grand Central to send him off to the train. Paul reveals that he has been seeing other people, thinking she was doing the same, and breaks up with her. Lucy is extremely agitated and breaks down at her volunteer job reading stories to children, regaling the children with tales about princes who leave princesses and starts trying to cut her Spanx off her body with child-safety scissors. George, who works at the bookstore, soothes her and the two start dating. Later, Alice takes Tom up on his offer to get drunk. The two talk about their frustrations with their feelings for Josh and Lucy and end up sleeping together in an attempt to distract themselves. They fist-bump as Alice leaves.
Meanwhile, Meg's boyfriend Ken discovers she is pregnant, but is eager to help raise her child. Meg, concerned that the relationship will fail after the baby is born, ends the relationship.
Later, at Alice's birthday party, Robin has invited Tom, David, and Josh without Alice's knowledge. Alice is shaken by the presence of all three men at her party and argues with Robin. Still at the party, Tom has gone to confess his feelings to Lucy, who, engaged to George from the bookstore, rejects him flippantly. George, having overheard the exchange, mocks him and leaves. Tom goes home and repairs his tap water plumbing, which he had purposely cut in an attempt to prevent thirsty, hungover women from hanging around his apartment in the morning.
Alice, who has gone out to sit on the fire escape alone, is joined by Josh. The two make out passionately, but stop when Alice is horrified to learn that Josh is still engaged to Michelle. Alice, invigorated by a desire to find herself as a single woman, leaves to go home. Her cab hits Robin, who has purposely jumped on the windshield to get a cab for Meg, who is in labor. Alice and Meg go to the hospital, where Meg successfully delivers her baby. Ken appears and convinces her to re-enter the relationship with reassurances. They kiss and talk to the baby together.

Alice goes to Robin's apartment to resolve their argument, surprised to see that it is large and filled with expensive items. Robin reveals that she is "super-rich", despite having never paid the bill when the two went out. The argument is resolved and they spend the rest of the day together in Robin's apartment. The film closes as Alice reflects on her time living alone and being single. She is seen hiking the Grand Canyon by herself, which she had previously mentioned that she wanted to do in conversations with Josh and David.

Ave, César! | Hail, Caesar! (2016)

Ave, César! | Hail, Caesar! (2016)

O Filme

Mannix decide rejeitar a oferta Lockheed e continuar a trabalhar no Capitólio.

The Film

Hail, Caesar! is a 2016 American comedy film written, produced, edited, and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. The film stars Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Alden Ehrenreich, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Scarlett Johansson, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, andChanning Tatum. The film is a fictional story that follows the real-life "fixer" Eddie Mannix (Brolin) working in the Hollywood film industry in the 1950s, trying to discover what happened to a cast member who vanishes during filming.

Plot

In 1951, Eddie Mannix (Brolin), head of production at Capitol Pictures, also works as a "fixer" to keep the scandalous behavior of its stars out of the press. The Lockheed Corporation has been courting him with an offer of a high-level executive position, but he is unsure about taking it. When unmarried actress DeeAnna Moran (Johansson) (a take off on Esther Williams), becomes pregnant, Mannix arranges for her to put the baby in foster care and then adopt it without revealing herself as the mother. He often has to fend off inquiries from Thora and Thessaly Thacker (both played by Swinton), twin sisters and rival gossip columnists (a take off onLouella Parsons and Hedda Hopper).
The studio's major production is Hail, Caesar!, an epic, set in ancient Rome and starring Baird Whitlock (Clooney). During a shot, Whitlock drinks from a goblet of wine that was drugged by an extra (played by Wayne Knight); he passes out behind the soundstage and is abducted. A ransom note soon arrives, written by a group calling itself "The Future" demanding $100,000. Mannix arranges to get the money from the studio's Accounting Department, as "petty cash." Whitlock awakens in a beach house and finds his way into a meeting of The Future, a Communist cell. The members, who introduce themselves as mostly writers in the motion picture industry, explain their doctrine to him, and he begins to sympathize with their cause.
Meanwhile, singing Western film star Hobie Doyle (Ehrenreich) is cast in a period drama helmed by director Laurence Laurentz (Fiennes), in an attempt by the studio to broaden his appeal. After Doyle's initial performance is hopelessly inept, Laurentz visits Mannix and asks him to remove Doyle from the project in order that Laurentz can preserve his artistic vision. Mannix informs Laurentz that Doyle's role is non-negotiable, and convinces him to coach the young actor to give a better performance. Later, Doyle comes to Mannix's office and admits that he also feels he is a poor fit for the part, but Mannix reassures him that he has the needed acting abilities.
Doyle attends the premiere of one of his own Westerns with starlet Carlotta Valdez (a take off on Carmen Miranda), per instructions from Mannix. While watching the film, Doyle is initially disappointed that his lone singing scene in the film is depicted in a comedic manner, rather than as heartfelt as he intended. However, after seeing the audience react positively to the scene, Doyle warms to it himself. Doyle and Valdez visit a nightclub (a take off on the Coconut Grove) following the premiere, where Doyle recognizes the briefcase containing the ransom money (because Mannix borrowed the actor's belt to keep it closed). It is being carried by Burt Gurney (Tatum), star of a sailor comedy film depicted earlier in an elaborate dancing scene (a take off on Gene Kelly in Anchors Aweigh).
Doyle follows Gurney to the beach house in Malibu but, after walking in the front door, finds only Whitlock inside. The rest of The Future's members have rowed a boat containing Gurney offshore so that he can rendezvous with a Soviet submarine and move to Russia. The members of The Future give him the money for the communist cause. As he boards, his dog jumps into his arms, causing him to drop the briefcase, which sinks into the ocean. Doyle takes Whitlock back to the studio as the police arrive to arrest the group.
Whitlock tries to explain his newfound Communist leanings to Mannix, who cuts him off sharply, slapping his face numerous times, and orders him to finish his role in Hail, Caesar! Thora threatens to publish a column revealing that Whitlock got his first major film role by having sex with Laurentz. However, Mannix has deduced that Gurney is her source and persuades her to not run the story since Gurney is a Communist -- which would make her own reputation suffer by association. DeeAnna marries Joseph Silverman (Hill), a surety agent who had agreed to take her baby into foster care. Mannix decides to reject the Lockheed offer and continue working at Capitol.

Hitman: Agente 47 | Hitman: Agent 47

O Filme

The Film

Hitman: Agent 47 is a 2015 German-American-British action thriller film directed by Aleksander Bach in his directorial debut and co-written by Skip Woods (who also wrote the original Hitman film) and Michael Finch. It is based on the Hitman video game series, developed by IO Interactive, and its main character, a mysterious assassin known only as Agent 47.

Plot

47 (Rupert Friend) is an "Agent," a genetically-enhanced supersoldier created decades ago by Doctor Pitor Litvenko (Ciaran Hinds), a skilled Russian geneticist who had a crisis of conscience and disappeared before the Agent project's completion, leaving behind his daughter Katia (Hannah Ware). 47 works as a hitman for the ICA (International Contracts Agency) and has spent the last few years tracking down Katia as a means to find her father. His most recent targets were mercenaries led by Delriego (Rolf Kanies) who have been trying to find Litvenko in order to recreate the Agent program for their own means.
Katia, living in Berlin, has worked tirelessly to find her father, and is plagued by overwhelming anxiety and an acute awareness of everything around her, being able to see and hear things well outside a person's normal sensory radius. Katia is approached at a subway station by a man calling himself John Smith (Zachary Quinto). He tells her that 47 is on his way to kill her, and offers her protection, while alluding that he has information about her father. 47 finds and attacks the pair, who are able to escape, but not before 47 grazes Katia's arm with a sniper bullet. Smith and Katia hide out in a hotel room where the former explains that he is an operative for a corporation known as Syndicate International, and Katia shows him her map of clues to finding her father. Katia asks John to tell her whatever he knows about her father. John responds with Litvenko's age, medical condition (rheumatoid arthritis) and that he speaks several different languages - including Tamil which is quite uncommon. He also says that he has stage 3 lung cancer. With these facts, Katia figures out that her dad would be living in a country which has a warm climate where orchids can grow, has Tamil as one of its official languages and where advanced medical treatments are available. Just as she is about to determine the country, 47 bursts through the door, shoots Smith in the chest, and knocks Katia unconscious. Elsewhere, 47's handler Diana (Angelababy) contacts another Agent with a contract.
Once Katia awakens, 47 explains to her that she too, is an Agent, only Katia is more advanced than even 47 himself (he even explains that her real name is "quatre-vingt-dix"; which is French for "90"). He shows her how to use her heightened senses in combat, as the two fight against Syndicate forces. They are confronted by Smith, who reveals to have a genetically engineered subdermal body armor, leaving him impervious to gunshots. Despite all these, Katia is not all pleased for being chosen to be a killing machine. Smith demands to know Litvenko's location. After a brief fight, 47 and Katia manage to escape. Katia makes 47 promise that he won't harm her father and finally reveal's Litvenko's location: Singapore.
Once there, they find Litvenko, who frequently needs an inhaler to breathe. He apologizes to Katia for abandoning her, saying that he only wanted to keep her safe. He refers to 47 as her "brother", saying that he had left her with family after all. Just then, Syndicate soldiers attack the group and they are forced to flee. During the escape, Litvenko is captured by the Syndicate but not before being slipped an explosive-rigged inhaler by 47.
At Syndicate International headquarters, Smith tortures Litvenko under the supervision of Syndicate director Antoine LeClerq (Thomas Kretschmann). Litvenko still refuses to reopen the Agent program. While Katia crashes a helicopter into the building, 47 infiltrates the headquarters disguised as a firefighter. The two fight their way through Syndicate security forces, and 47 is once again confronted by Smith. With Smith being impervious to bullets, 47 defeats Smith by electrocuting him. On the rooftop, 47 and Katia fight their way through the last of the Syndicate's security, but not before LeClerq escapes in a helicopter with Litvenko. In mid-air, Litvenko detonates the inhaler given to him by 47, ensuring that the Syndicate will not come after Katia. 47 then calls Diana and confirms his first target (LeClerq) has been eliminated. When Diana asks about the second target (Katia), 47 drops his phone off the side of the building. As the two prepare to leave, they are confronted by Agent 48, an exact look-alike of Agent 47, who tells them "Diana says 'Hello'" before a gun battle begins between them.
A mid-credits scene shows the electrocuted body of Smith, now with white hair and a ghostly pale complexion, as he jolts awake.

The Film

The Finest Hours is a 2016 American film that dramatizes an account of the 1952 United States Coast Guard rescue of the tanker SS Pendleton, after it split apart during a nor'easter off the New England coast. This historical disaster drama was directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The screenplay by Eric Johnson, Scott Silver, and Paul Tamasy was based on the book, The Finest Hours: The True Story of the U.S. Coast Guard's Most Daring Sea Rescue by Michael J. Tougias andCasey Sherman. The film stars Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger, John Ortiz, and Eric Bana. The action is presented in segments that alternate between the the rescuers, the crew aboard the stricken tanker, and those who wait ashore for the return of their loved-ones.

Plot

Bernard "Bernie" Webber, a crewman at the Coast Guard station in Chatham, Massachusetts on Cape Cod, has fallen in love with a local girl, Miriam Pentinen. The two plan to marry on April 16, but in accordance with Coast Guard regulations, Bernie must seek permission from the station's commander, Daniel Cluff. On the day he is due to ask permission, Bernie is dispatched to pilot his lifeboat, CG 36500, to rescue the oil tanker, SS Pendleton, which has broken in half off the Chatham coast after getting caught in a nor'easter. Bernie selects Andrew Fitzgerald, Ervin Maske, and Richard P. Livesey as his crew.

Meanwhile, the Pendelton's engineer organizes the surviving crew to steer the sinking stern of the tanker onto a submerged reef, where it can lodge until rescuers arrive.

When Miriam hears about Bernie's mission, she, like a number of other townspeople, thinks this is a suicide mission. Few people in Chatham trust Cluff, since he isn't from the area and doesn't know its treacherous weather. Miriam even goes as far as to drive to the station and urge Cluff to call Bernie back. Cluff refuses, and brusquely orders Miriam out.

Between the Chatham harbor and the open sea, lies a bar (shoal) that becomes dangerous in stormy weather. Bernie must time bursts of his engine to ride each approaching wave before it breaks as he pilots his rescue boat across the bar.

Bernie steers CG 36500 to the stricken tanker, even though he loses his compass along the way. Even though his boat is only designed to take on 12 people, Bernie manages to rescue 32 crewmen. The stern of the Pendleton begins sinking more rapidly during the rescue and goes down shortly after the rescue is completed. Relying on his knowledge of the coast and prevailing winds in place of his compass, Bernie steers the CG 36500 toward home--a task made more difficult as Chatham loses power. However, Miriam and the other townspeople drive their cars to the pier and turn on their headlights to guide Bernie in.

A closing segment briefly documents the aftermath of the rescue using photographs from the actual events. Two months later, Bernie and Miriam are married; they stay together for 58 years until Bernie's death in 2009. Webber and his crew receive the Gold Lifesaving Medal.

Cross veste o Yellowjacket e ataca Lang.

The Film

Ant-Man is a 2015 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the twelfth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Peyton Reed, with a screenplay by Edgar Wright & Joe Cornish and Adam McKay & Paul Rudd, and stars Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Anthony Mackie, Wood Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, and Michael Douglas. In Ant-Man, Lang must help defend Dr. Pym's Ant-Man shrinking technology and plot a heist with worldwide ramifications.

Plot

In 1989, scientist Hank Pym resigns from S.H.I.E.L.D. after discovering their attempt to replicate his Ant-Man shrinking technology. Believing the technology is dangerous, Pym vows to hide it as long as he lives. In the present day, Pym's estranged daughter, Hope van Dyne, and former protégé, Darren Cross, have forced him out of his company, Pym Technologies. Cross is close to perfecting a shrinking suit of his own, the Yellowjacket, which horrifies Pym.

Upon his release from prison, well-meaning thief Scott Lang moves in with his old cellmate, Luis. While visiting his daughter Cassie unannounced, Lang is rebuked by his former wife Maggie and her police-detective fiancé, Paxton, for not providing child support. Unable to hold a job because of his criminal record, Lang agrees to join Luis' crew and commit a burglary. Lang breaks into a house and cracks its safe, but only finds what he believes to be an old motorcycle suit, which he takes home. After trying the suit on, Lang accidentally shrinks himself to the size of an insect. Terrified by the experience, he returns the suit to the house, but is arrested on the way out. Pym, the homeowner, visits Lang in jail and smuggles the suit into his cell to help him break out.

At his home, Pym, who manipulated Lang through an unknowing Luis into stealing the suit as a test, wants Lang to become the new Ant-Man to steal the Yellowjacket from Cross. Having been spying on Cross after discovering his intentions, van Dyne helps Pym train Lang to fight and to control ants. While van Dyne harbors resentment towards Pym about her mother Janet's death, he reveals that Janet, known as the Wasp, disappeared into a subatomic quantum realm to disable a Soviet nuclear missile. Pym warns Lang that he could suffer a similar fate if he overrides his suit's regulator. They send him to steal a device that will aid their heist from the Avengers' headquarters, where he briefly fights Sam Wilson.

Cross perfects the Yellowjacket and hosts an unveiling ceremony at Pym Technologies' headquarters. Lang, along with his crew and a swarm of flying ants, infiltrates the building during the event, sabotages the company's servers, and plants explosives. When he attempts to steal the Yellowjacket, he, along with Pym and Hope, are captured by Cross, who intends to sell both the Yellowjacket and Ant-Man suits to Hydra, led by former S.H.I.E.L.D officer Mitchell Carson. Lang breaks free and he and Hope dispatch most of the Hydra agents, though Carson is able to flee with a vial of Cross' particles and Pym is shot. Lang pursues Cross as he escapes, while the explosives detonate, imploding the building. Pym and van Dyne escape by driving a World War 2 Russian T-34 Tank disguised as Pym's keychain, which he used his particles on.

Cross dons the Yellowjacket and attacks Lang before Lang is arrested by Paxton. His mind addled by the imperfect shrinking technology, Cross takes Cassie hostage to lure Lang into another fight. Lang overrides the regulator and shrinks to subatomic size to penetrate Cross' suit and sabotage it to shrink uncontrollably, killing Cross. Lang disappears into the quantum realm but manages to reverse the effects and returns to the macroscopic world. In gratitude for Lang's heroism, Paxton covers for Lang to keep him out of prison. Seeing that Lang survived and returned from the quantum realm, Pym wonders if his wife is alive as well. Later, Lang meets up with Luis, who tells him that Wilson is looking for him.

In a mid-credits scene, Pym shows van Dyne a new Wasp prototype suit and offers it to her. In a post-credits scene, Wilson and Steve Rogers have Bucky Barnes in their custody. Unable to contact Tony Stark because of "the accords", Wilson mentions that he knows someone who could help.

The Film

Home is a 2015 American 3D computer-animated science-fiction buddy comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is loosely based on Adam Rex's 2007 children's book The True Meaning of Smekday and stars Jim Parsons, Rihanna, Steve Martin, Jennifer Lopez, and Matt Jones. Tim Johnson is the director of the film, Chris Jenkins and Suzanne Buirgy are its producers, and the screenplay is by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember. The story takes place on planet Earth, where an alien race called the Boov invade the planet. However, a girl named Gratuity "Tip" Tucci manages to avoid capture, and goes on the run with Oh, a fugitive Boov.

Plot

On the run from their enemy, the planet-destroying Gorg, the Boov find Earth a suitable place to call "home". Led by Captain Smek (Steve Martin), they commence their "friendly" invasion of the planet, relocating the humans, whom the Boov deem as simple and backwards, to other parts of the planet while the Boov inhabit their homes in a quick and bloodless conquest. One of the Boov, named Oh (Jim Parsons), is a more excitable, freethinking member of the species, who decides to invite the Boov to his apartment for a housewarming party, despite the race's antipathy towards him. Not far from Oh is a fourteen year old girl named Tip (Rihanna), who drives away through her home city to find her mother Lucy (Jennifer Lopez) after being separated from her during the invasion, leaving her with only her calico cat Pig and fueling her hatred for the Boov.
Oh runs into the street to meet up with a Boov cop named Kyle (Matt Jones), who, like the rest of the Boov, refuse to befriend him. Oh invites him to the party and decides to send a mass invite to every Boov on Earth. However, the "send all" button he pressed actually sends the invite to absolutely every alien race in the entire galaxy including the Gorg. Everyone, aggravated with Oh for revealing their location to the enemy, starts chasing him down. Oh runs into a convenience store to hide just as Tip and Pig enter the same store to grab supplies. They come across each other, and after Tip's car fails to start, Oh transforms it into a fantastical, hovering craft to continue transportation. Oh hitches a ride with Tip when he promises to help her find Lucy, but unfortunately, they must to go to the Boov Command Center in Paris and locate her from there.
After reaching the Boov Command Center, which is in the now-floating Eiffel Tower, Oh manages to get into his account, and deletes the message just a second before it reaches the Gorg. He then plugs in Tip's brain to help her find Lucy. They eventually trace her location to Australia, where she is also looking for her daughter. The other Boov then find the two and try to "erase" Oh, while Tip grabs the gravity manipulation system and flips it over, causing the whole Tower to tilt upside down.
As Oh and Tip head off to Australia, they see other Boov riding by them in fear, and realize that a Gorg ship is close behind them. Tip and Oh manage to knock it down, but in the process a chunk of it hits them and they lose their slushie fuel. They come across the fallen Gorg ship and find out that it is actually a drone. Oh recovers a special chip and uses it to get their car up and running.
Tip and Oh make it to Australia and see the Boov evacuating to their mothership. When they land the car, Tip starts to run for her mother, but Oh insists on evacuating with the other Boov instead. Tip gets angry at him for trying to break the promise again, and she declares that they were never friends. Heartbroken, Oh returns to the ship. The Gorg mothership comes close to the Boov ship, but Oh pulls out the Gorg chip and uses it to fly the ship further away from the Gorg. The Boov become astonished at Oh's plan, but Smek becomes upset and reminds everyone that he is the captain. However, after Oh tells the Boov what he learned from Tip, Kyle grabs Smek's "shusher" (a scepter with a rock on top of it) and gives it to Oh, declaring him the new captain.
Tip rushes aimlessly around the city to find Lucy, but no one can help her. Oh returns to her side and helps her track down Lucy. The mother and daughter finally reunite and thank Oh. The Gorg mothership descends upon the planet, and Oh realizes that they want the rock on the shusher, since Smek had previously stolen it from them. Oh runs to the ship to try and get its attention, locking Tip and Lucy in the car for safety. Tip breaks out of the car and shines a light in the Gorg Commander's face to bring his attention to Oh as he holds the rock up. The Gorg Commander (Brian Stepanek) halts the ship as it crunches down on the ground, with Oh in its path. Tip rushes to rescue him, but Oh is seemingly crushed beneath the machine. It backs up and Oh is revealed to be unharmed. The Gorg Commander emerges from his armor to show that he is actually a harmless starfish-like creature. Oh returns the rock to him, which turns out to be an egg for millions of developing Gorg larvae; the next generation of Gorg, revealing that the Gorg Commander had been the last of his kind, alone and almost extinct. He thanks Oh and departs.
Two weeks later, the humans have returned to their original homes, and Oh finally gets to have his party at his apartment, with both humans and Boov in attendance. Tip plays her music and gets the rest of the Boov to experience dancing for the first time, while other Boov, including a reformed Smek, party on the moon, and thousands of ships from other planets, including the Gorg, head to Earth for Oh's party upon receiving his invite.

The Movie

Hotel Transylvania 2 is a 2015 American 3D computer animated fantasy-comedy film. It is the second installment in the Hotel Transylvania franchise, and the sequel to the 2012 film Hotel Transylvania, with its director, Genndy Tartakovsky, and writer, Robert Smigel, returning for the film. Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, it was animated by Sony Pictures Imageworks, with an additional funding provided by LStar Capital.

Plot

Some time after the first film, Mavis (Selena Gomez) and her fiancé Johnny (Andy Samberg) are married, with the approval of her father Dracula (Adam Sandler), and the world becomes aware of (and unfazed by) the existence of monsters. Mavis later reveals to Drac that she is pregnant and a year later, she gives birth to a boy named Dennis (Asher Blinkoff), who befriends Wayne's daughter Winnie (Sadie Sandler). Nearing his fifth birthday, Dennis has yet to grow his fangs and Drac worries that his grandson might not gain vampire powers. Noticing the dangers of Transylvania, Mavis starts to consider raising Dennis where Johnny grew up, much to Drac's disapproval.

Drac tells Johnny (who doesn't want to leave the hotel either) to bring Mavis to California to visit the in-laws, Mike (Nick Offerman) and Linda (Megan Mullally), but to make sure to keep her distracted so that she will not move, leaving Drac to babysit Dennis. Drac enlists his friends, Frank (Kevin James), Wayne the Werewolf (Steve Buscemi), Griffin the Invisible Man (David Spade), Murray the Mummy (Keegan-Michael Key) and Blobby the Blob (Jonny Solomon) to help train Dennis to become a monster, to no avail. Drac takes Dennis to a summer camp, where he learned to hone his vampire abilities, and discovers that the camp is safer than it was when he went there. Out of stupidity, Drac unknowingly hurls Dennis from a tall, unstable tower to pressure his transformation into a bat, but rescues him at the last second. The stunt is filmed by the campers and uploaded to the internet, which eventually reaches Mavis and Johnny who decide to hurry back to Transylvania. Without any flights available, Mavis flies straight to Translyvania as a bat carrying Johnny. Drac's pack reaches the hotel a couple of seconds after Mavis, upon which she confronts her father for putting Dennis in grave danger and his inability to accept that he is human, promising to move out of the hotel after Dennis’ fifth birthday the following Wednesday.

Mavis invites Vlad (Mel Brooks), her grandfather and Drac’s father, to Dennis’ birthday party. As Vlad is much worse than he was when it comes to humans, Drac tells Johnny to have the human partygoers disguise themselves as monsters. Vlad receives the invitation and arrives with his monstrous bat-like servant Bela (Rob Riggle) to meet his great-grandson for the first time. Meeting him, he believes that fear will cause Dennis’ fangs to sprout and possesses a stage performer dressed as Dennis's favorite television monster, "Kakie the Cake Monster," to scare Dennis, but Drac shields his grandson at the last moment and exposes the deception to Vlad, who is outraged that Drac has accepted humans as guests in his hotel. Drac confronts his father about how humans are different now.

Mavis becomes upset with her grandfather’s behavior and while the family quarrels, Dennis sadly flees the hotel (followed by Bela) and enters the forest with Winnie in tow, hiding in her treehouse, but they are attacked by Bela. When Bela injures Winnie, Dennis' anger causes him to instantly grow his fangs and his vampire abilities manifest. He begins to fight Bela, who calls his giant-bat minions. Drac, Mavis, Dennis, the rest of the monsters and (some of) Johnny's family team up to defeat his minions. A livid Bela then attempts to kill Johnny with a stake, but Vlad appears, having been won over by what Drac had said to him, and shrinks him to a harmless size and lets the Werewolf Kids lick him nonstop.

Now that Dennis has vampire abilities, Mavis continues to raise him in Transylvania and the party resumes.
